Employee Spotlight:

Chris Cafiero, Sr. Sales Representative

Welcome to Rampiva’s Spotlight Series, where we highlight some of the amazing people who make up our team. We’ll be chatting with people who work in a variety of roles, so check back often or view the entire series.

Christopher (Chris) Cafiero joined Rampiva in May of 2022. Get to know more about Chris, who works closely with client success, marketing, and executive leadership on the Rampiva portfolio of solutions and introducing us to the market.

Rampiva: Let’s start with a bit about your background.

Christopher: I’ve been in eDiscovery for over 10 years as trial attorney. As a “recovering trial attorney” I like to think my real world experience helps me relate to the problems of our clients and provide viable solutions. Before I was an attorney, I worked in the Oil & Gas business in Texas, politics, and was a US Army Paratrooper with combat service in Grenada.

Rampiva: Ryley Carlock & Applewhite to Rampiva is a bit of a jump. What made you want to join Rampiva, and what excites you about joining the team?

Christopher: Ryley Carlock was a former client and a great match. However, they were acquired by another law firm that had different plans so I went looking. I hadn’t heard of Rampiva but thought I’d do an interview with Bill Potter and find out. An hour later, after learning about the kind of data processing performance increases they could provide, my mind was already turning with the people I know who would not just be interested, but astounded, to learn about this technology.

Better faster, smarter excites me…so here I am!

Rampiva: What advice would you give someone who’s interested in joining Rampiva?

Christopher: I’d say congrats! My experience is Rampiva is small, agile, with a fun group of supportive coworkers. The knowledge curve is real, but the basic value proposition is pretty straightforward. And the company is growing rapidly.

Rampiva: What has been your favorite project or challenge you’ve worked on in your academic or professional career?

Christopher: I won a highly contested pregnancy discrimination case in Federal Court that was very satisfying. For eDiscovery there was the work on a Federal EPA matter.

Personal achievement has to be that, despite being a scrawny 150lb. 18 year-old, I was able to somehow physically cope with US Army Infantry school in mid-summer Georgia, and win my wings as a paratrooper afterwards.

Rampiva: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Christopher: Speak a foreign language. I can do some Latin, but have powerfully failed at French, Spanish, and German.

Rampiva: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Christopher: Reading, games, travel, playing with the kids & family…and what ever chores the lovely wife directs.
