Employee Spotlight:

Gary Swenson, Senior Sales Representative

Welcome back to our Employee Spotlight series. Here at Rampiva, we feel very fortunate to be surrounded every day by such amazing colleagues, each possessing a diversity of skills and expertise. That’s why we shine a (spot)light on them.

Over the last year, you’ve been learning about the members of the Rampiva Family—from Support, Development, Sales, and lots more.

The following post in our Employee Spotlight series introduces the newest member of our team, Gary Swenson. Gary brings over 15 years of experience to the team, and we’re excited to welcome him.

Q&A with Gary

Rampiva: Let’s start with a bit about your background.

Gary: I am originally from Minneapolis, MN. I have held sales and sales management roles for several legal services providers in Washington, D.C. and New York City. A litigation support service provider hired me for a sales position in Washington, DC. The Amtrak DC to New York train has been like a second home to me.

Rampiva: What made you want to join Rampiva, and what excites you about joining the team?

Gary: Rampiva has proven technology that helps customers solve many issues. The development staff is constantly making improvements and tackling new challenges. The team assembled is simply one of the best in my experience.

Rampiva: What advice would you give someone interested in joining Rampiva?

Gary: Rampiva is an excellent company with solid tech and great people. Rampiva has an exciting roadmap for the future. My advice is to go for it.

Rampiva: What has been your favorite project or challenge you’ve worked on in your professional career?

Gary: Some years ago, a company hired me to open a processing facility in New York City. I secured the space, renovated and equipped it, and hired the staff. We were not supposed to be profitable in the first year but made a considerable profit. My collaborator was Mr. Andrew Jeckell. I could not have accomplished this without his expertise.

Rampiva: Is there something new that you would like to learn?

Gary: I have jumped out of a plane but never have flown one. Up toward the top of my bucket list are flying lessons.

Rampiva: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Gary: For my followers on LinkedIn, they are aware that I have a love of history. I spend many of my weekends scouring the city of Washington, DC, for historic people, places, and things.

Rampiva: Could you share a fun fact about yourself?

Gary: I spent the summers growing up in Ideal Corners, Minnesota. Ideal Corners had a bakery and General Store, which also served as a venue for polka and bingo. Fortunately, the metropolis of Pequot Lakes, population 2,162, is nearby. Pequot boasts a bar, liquor store, bank, pharmacy, and several random stores. Their 4th of July parade is a sensation to this day.
